DAY 01 IQUITOS / AMAZON SINCHICUY / TAMBO YANAYACU

Reception at the airport in Iquitos and transfer to the city or pick up in the hotel.
During the tour you will be offered a brief orientation by the city of Iquitos, looking at the main tourist sites of this vibrant and historic city of eastern Peru in the nineteenth century way to become small town the most important river port in the Amazon, acquiring a surprising cosmopolitan condition during the so-called "rubber fever".

In Iquitos, the guide and transfer to the pier to start the boat ride to our hostel.
Navigation downstream on the Amazon River, the largest river in the world, aboard comfortable and safe boats. The trip of about 45 'NE of Iquitos will allow you to see a marvelous panorama in which the magnificence of the Amazon makes its way through the exuberance of the jungle.

Arrival at Amazon Sinchicuy (45 "NE of Iquitos). Our lodge built in the native style with natural materials, surrounded by trees, plants and flowers, a true tropical garden on high ground or "restinga" where abundant varieties of birds and butterflies. Our staff will welcome you with a nice refreshment welcome made with fruit from the region (cocona, camu camu, cupuaçu, etc.). a short explanation of the rules governing the sustainability of the lodge and its surroundings will allow you to better understand the ways of how to make your stay more rewarding and participation in ecotourism activities.

CULTURAL ECO program.

Short walk or canoe ride -according to the season- to "Nuevo Peru" where is established a Yagua community, whose ancestors were discovered by Francisco de Orellana in his first exploration of the Amazon in 1541. This visit let you know their customs, see their unique apparel made of palm fibers and even try their aim with the "pucuna" (blowpipe) that Yaguas used for centuries for hunting. Return to the lodge. Lunch. The cuisine in the Amazon Sinchicuy out because it involves natural and fresh products that produce the river and the "farm". Filets of Dorado (Brachyplatystoma flavicans) accompanied by  Cocona sauce, salads regional vegetables, cassava, beans and fried plantains , a true delight which is another attraction over the jungle.

A time indicated by our guide, boarded the boat to make the trip of approximately 90 minutes Tambo Yanayacu. The Ecosystem Yanayacu is located on the opposite side of the Amazon River and once reached the "huashalado" (a regional name given to opposite side of the river) continue for an easy path to transit through the jungle to reach a second, smaller boat that will take you through the winding Quebrada Yanayacu the "Kingdom of the Giant trees", a name that has been given by the size reached by some specimens of trees among which is the "kapok" or Ceiba . it is noted that the hike the trail is between the months of dry season (June to November), this path is also made canoe in the rainy season (December to May).

This is a favorite place for birds found in the gorge their food, fish and fruits that grow on its shores; the dense foliage also offers ideal nesting possibilities. With a little luck, you can see monkeys moving on the tree tops or a sloth hanging from a branch, which blend in with the forest making it nearly impossible to detect.

After sailing for about 30 minutes, will visit the Tambo Yanayacu Lodge located in the gorde of Falcón (60Km. NE Iquitos). You will be welcomed by our staff who will provide a warm welcome and facilitate their accommodation. Have a moment to rest and admire the beautiful gorge on limpid whose dark waters surrounding vegetation and the blue sky reflected. Then your guide will take you to an evening canoe ride or walk to hear the sounds of the nocturnal creatures of the forest. Dinner. Then you listen to your guide tell entertaining stories and myths of the Amazon. Overnight stay.

Day 02 TAMBO LODGE YANAYACU

Birding in the creek early in the morning. This is the best time to identify and photograph all kinds of species while feeding on the banks or dive into the water to fish. Breakfast.

Walk to Yagua Cocha (June to November). This is an exciting experience of walking in the forest and bring out your chance to let your adventurous spirit; it certainly enjoy it more if wears rubber boots suitable for this type of terrain. People who live in the area use this trail to reach one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in performing their catch. You can join the fishermen paddle their canoes to the best places to carry out fishing on the lake and catch a piranha for dinner (if you want to try something different). Here on the shores of the lake, high up in the trees observe the Hoatzin or "shansho" (Opisthocomus hoatzin), with prehistoric bird features.
During the rainy season (December to May) we made a trip to the area sandbar called "Language", a ravine where it is possible to arrive by boat about 20 minutes from our hostel. There we walk to also observe trees as Lupuna and other species of flora by other attractive, that in the case of endemic in some cases can become an educational experience at a time.

Return to the lodge in the afternoon. Lunch. After lunch, we will hike to the other side of the Yanayacu River to visit a local community called Yanayacu Timicuro. On the road and along the river, our guides try to find some mammals located between the treetops, as in the rainy season, due to increased flow, animals like sloths usually take refuge and become more noticeable presence .

Return to the lodge. Dinner. Night hike or canoe in search of animals that are felt only in the darkness of the jungle. Return to the lodge. Overnight.

DAY 03 YANAYACU TAMBO LODGE / IQUITOS

Breakfast. Fresh fruit juices and jams produced in the region (papaya, orange, melon, Cocona) accompany dishes and hot drinks to start the morning. Immediately after breakfast proceed to embroider the boat that will transport you to the Huashalado again where we take another boat to go to the Amazon Sinchicuy. Before, we will stop to visit the Project Wildlife, recently listed as Custody Center Fundo Neysser to observe and interact with some of the varieties of wild animals like sloths, monkeys, achuñis, macaws, toucans, boas and lizards . It will be an interesting way to learn to value and respect the wildlife typical of our Amazon.

After our educational tour, we headed to the hostel for a restful lunch. Here you can see some pink dolphins in the Amazon River.

At appropriate time, transfer to Iquitos and then be transferred to the airport or hotel chosen.

Cotton pants and long-sleeved light
Bermuda shorts or thin
Cotton polo type shirt or T-shirts with short sleeves
Sunscreen
Visored cap or hat light
Camera and / or camcorder rechargeable battery
Lotion or cream mosquito repellent (OFF!)
Lightweight poncho or waterproof jacket
