Day 01

Iquitos / Amazonas Sinchicuy

Reception at Iquitos airport where we expect the guide on the way to the pier will give a brise orientation of the city. We sail down the Amazon River to the Amazonas Sinchicuy. Welcome to the Lodge as a nice refreshing taste with local fruits like Cocona, camu camu copoazú. In the afternoon we will have a hike or canoe - as permitted by season - to "Nuevo Peru" where a community is established Yagua. We return to the lodge for lunch and then embark on a tour where we will ethnobotany of the great diversity of plants in the Peruvian Amazon and visited a place shaman who is an expert on the secrets of nature. Also we will go through the coastal Santa Maria estate Ojeal where we can interact with people as we contemplate their typical houses, schools, churches and shops. Returning to the hostel appreciate an unforgettable Amazon sunset. At night Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 02

Full day tour in Rio Yanayacu

Full day exploring the primary jungle reserve in the Yanayacu River ecosystem. We navigate the Amazon River through which with any luck we may see some pink dolphins. Arrival at Huashalado Village where we will walk to the Yanayacu River, where it awaits a boat that will take us on this tour. During the tour, we will walk through the "Kingdom of the Giant Trees", so called because of the size reached by some specimens among which the "kapok". Here we can see a variety of birds like some monkeys and a sloth or "pelejo". After enjoying box lunch in the boat or on the bank of the river we can choose if we want between walking trail or canoe ride -according to the season- in this journey we will observe more plants and trees from this ecosystem highlighting the Victoria Regia, which can measure up to 1.80 m. in diameter. Returning to the hostel we can fish piranhas, sunfish and other species in the way they do the natives of the area. Optionally you can have a canoe ride through the gorge, otherwise you can enjoy the evening comfortably swaying in a hammock or enjoy an exotic drink at our Bar "Clavohuasca". Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Amazon Sinchicuy / Iquitos / Lima

Breakfast and last chance to take photos before departure. Return to Iquitos airport.

Amazon Sinchicuy Lodge is a rustic and natural hostel located in a tropical garden with flowering trees and plants that attract birds and butterflies and hummingbirds like iridescent Blue Morpho. This wonderful hostel is located just 30 km. / 20 miles from the city of Iquitos in the gorge of the river Sinchicuy, sailing down the Amazon River, the largest river in the world. It has 32 comfortable rooms covered with wire mesh, with private bathroom where they can stay for up to four people. Kerosene lamps illuminate the rooms and passageways giving a romantic light overnight. The Sinchicuy Amazonas, it is equipped with facilities for people with disabilities.
