The Ausangate is the most representative within the Andean culture in the Andes mountains of Cusco. It is part of a solid group of mountains whose peaks reach up to 6,372 meters (20,905 feet) The turquoise lagoons, large stone fields and forests turned the area into a paradise moon completely separate from the modern world. ITINERARY
 
Day 01: Cusco / Tinqui
We leave Cusco at 9:00 in the morning to seven hours by bus to the small town of Tinqui. We passed through beautiful countryside and several traditional villages such as Urcos, Cattca and Ocangate, where we will have the opportunity to stop for a while and take some pictures. We spent the first night in a rustic lodge located in the Andean community of Tinqui (3,800 m) (12,470 feet).

Day 02: Tinqui / Upis
After breakfast around 8.00am. On this day we will have direct contact with local families, where you can appreciate closely the customs and traditions of the local inhabitants, the magnificent landscapes of the Cordillera Vilcanota, with excellent views of Mount Ausangate (6372 m) (20,945 feet). After lunch, we walk two hours to reach the thermal baths of Upis (4,400 m) (14,436 feet)

Day 03: Upis / lagoon Jatun puca Q'ocha
During the first three hours of walking in the morning we cross the first step or open Arapa name (4,850 m) (15,912 feet) from this point down to reach the turquoise lake Jatun Puqa Q'ocha passing the green lake Puqa Q'ocha. We will set up camp there. From camp you can climb the small hill north of the camp to see the lake Vino Q'ocha, the Ausangate are close and have a stunning and spectacular view.

Day 04: Laguna Jatun puca Q'ocha / Pampacancha
After breakfast in the morning climb to the second step of Apuchata (4,900 m) (16,077 feet) there awaits us Q'ocha Ausangate Lake with its turquoise color. This lake is fed by the melting of Ausangate. From the lake we ascend to the Palomani (5,200 m) (17,060 feet), which is the highest point of the walk way. We follow the path and we stop for rest and lunch. After lunch and after an hour of walking we reached our camp at Pampacancha.

DAY 05: Pampacancha / Q'omer Q'ocha
In the morning we will see the snowy peaks of Tres Picos. We will continue eastward across the broad green valley of Pampa Jutunpata until Q'ampa River. After passing through the small community of Q'ampa we go northwest and pass the final step of this walk, Q'ampa step (5000 m) (16,405 feet). We will see several different colored lakes, the final lake is Q'oma Q'ocha. Camp beside this beautiful green turquoise lake.

DAY 06: Q'omer Q'ocha / Pacchanta
We will have an easy day hike of about 3 hours until we reached the small town of Pacchanta. You will have the opportunity to rest and relax in the hot springs for a couple of hours, will establish a camp near Pacchanta and will have the afternoon free to explore this interesting Andean village.

DAY 07: Pacchanta / Cusco
This day we have a three-hour walk back to Tinqui where we said goodbye to our wranglers (leaders horses) and take the bus back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 pm.
